Hello, after installing SP3 on an machine running XP SP3, the SATA-DVD drive is not recognized by the OS. In the device manger the device IDE/ATAPI-Controller shows a yellow exclamation mark.
Do I need new drivers for the mainboard? The machine is running on a Gigabyte P35C-DS3R mainboard. The SATA devices run in 'IDE mode'. After booting XP with SP3 there is a task 'runonce' and a lot of 'rundll32.' , that prevents XP from booting the desktop.

The other thing you could do is download the drivers and have them available on a USB if your Mb recognizes USB drives and is able to see them during boot.
